[guʎʎɛl'miːni], Domenico, italienischer Naturforscher, * Bologna 27. 9. 1655, ✝ Padua 11. 7. 1710; ab 1690 Professor der Mathematik, später der Hydromechanik in Bologna, ab 1702 Professor der Medizin in Padua. Sein 1697 erschienenes Werk »Della natura dei fiumi« war grundlegend für die Hydraulik. Guglielmini befasste sich außerdem mit Astronomie und Kristallographie; er stellte 1705 die Hypothese auf, dass die Kristalle in einem geordneten Nebeneinander ihrer elementaren Bausteine bestehen. Er fand, dass sie bei ihrer Spaltung die gleiche Form behalten, und ermittelte an einigen Kristallen das Gesetz der Winkelkonstanz.
